Stackable chairs: the importance of the frame

Wooden framed stackable chairs may have a warm, rural look, but suffer from a number of disadvantages; thus they can rarely be used on terraces, since wood cannot sustain a range of weather conditions. Even if used only indoors, wooden stackable chairs require treatment with special wax or oil at least twice a year.

Tip: Napoleon and Chiavari are inspired by classic wooden stackable chairs, but can be used indoors as well as outdoors since they are made of maintenance-free polypropylene.​

Catering owners who prefer modern furniture can easily find stackable chairs with a chromed or aluminium metal frame. However, such metals can oxidise and therefore the chairs cannot be used on terraces. Even if used on the indoors, chrome and aluminium require a lot of maintenance to prevent oxidation, but the trendy look of Scala or Spectra XL stackable chairs more than compensates for this, even if we say so ourselves.

Also consider the maintenance of the seats

Stackable chairs with leather seats also look very attractive; but they won’t stay that way if you don’t treat them regularly with a care product. Direct exposure to sunlight discolours the leather. Leather stackable chairs should also be kept away from heat sources, since this dries out the leather.
